First Semester Youth Group Activity
November:
6th- Turkey dinner
John and I are the committee leaders for the Dining room. We have adults helping but all High schools students are welcome to help us at this event. We need students to come around 10:00 am or whenever you can. If you can only come for an hour that is still very helpful. Come find me when you arrive and I will let you know where we need the most help at that moment. As you probably know the dinner is the busiest between 10:30-1:00 pm. Help at those times are crucial. Service points will be given.
We also have movie night the same day. It will be at John and Julie's house starting around 6:30pm. Please bring a 2 liter of pop if you can. Popcorn will be provided . The movie will be Knights Tale.
17-19th 2011 National Youth Conference held in Indianapolis Indiana more info www.ncyc.info/index.htm Lots of fun facts listed on this site. Next one to be held in 2013.
20th- Laser tag 1:00 to 4:00pm at Skateland in Savoy. Will leave at 12:30pm from the church hall. Initial game is $6.00 and then $4.00 for each additional game. Total cost for 4 games is $18.00.
22-24th TEC (Teens Encounter Christ) hosted by Great River Quincy IL
December:
4th (Sunday)
Game night at the church hall 7-9pm.
14th (Wednesday)
Schwan Childrens Home: Gift delivery and caroling. We will meet at the church to load gifts at 5:30pm. Gifts will be delivered between 6-6:30 pm. We will stop for supper afterwards. We will try to be home around 8:30pm . Try to remember your permission slips. Fill it out once and you are done for the year!
17th (Saturday)
Christmas party starts at 10:00 am and runs until late afternoon. Come for 1 hour or several whatever works out for you. This is a wonderful activity for high school students and adults. Celebrate the true meaning of Christmas by sharing your time with these beautiful children.
Now to the 24th
Ann Taylor Loft at the Market place mall would like to have volunteers to wrap gifts during the holiday season The money that is raised is donated to St Judes childrens hospital. You do not need us to go with you but we expected appropriate behavior since you will be representing Forty Martrys Church. If there is several of you would like to go call us and we can probably take you. Service points will be awarded but you must be with us or a acknowledge note from the store to receive.
21st (Wednesday)
Laser tag from 6:30-8:30pm. The cost is $12.00 per person for unlimited play. Teams consist of 6 people. 12 people can play at at time.
Drivers/chaperones may be needed for the trip. Permission slips can be printed from the top of the page. Nooma video will be watched at the Kennedy's house afterwards.
January:
Youth Group TONIGHT January 8th at the Church Hall. We will be having a game night playing impressive and exciting games such as Bunko with fabulous prizes!!! See you there starting at 7:00PM
2012 March for Life in Washington DC January 20-24, 2012 Diocesan of Springfield in Illinois pilgrimage. Participating in the March for Life is an opportunity to be advocates for those who cannot speak for themselves and to help our government understand why we believe life is so sacred. Bishop Paprocki will be running in a marathon to raise money for the diocesan pilgrimage. This money will be used for youth scholarships. For more information contact Julie/John Kennedy by phone or email by November 1st.

FEBURARY
Saturday 11th Setup for Valentine's Day breakfast 4-6pm
Grades 7-12th are invited to participate in all activites for the weekend. We will attend a PG-13 movie after setup. Movie: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close Rated PG13 at 7:05pm Savoy 16 Feel free to look up the reviews on Pluggedin.com
Sunday 12th Valentine's Day breakfast 8am till done
Grades 7-12th are invited to participate. We need 4 adults to assist us on this morning. It would be helpful to have you arrive around 7:30 am. The kids do a great job but adult help is very much appreciated.

Anyone interested in helping with snacks, transportation and/or chaperoning, please email John and Julie.
Youth Group will be immediately following PSR Sunday nights twice a month at 7:00 PM. More events will be announced and scheduled when Youth Group is in session. If there are any questions, please contact anyone who is listed above.
