Forty Martyrs 2010-2011 PSR INFORMATION
POLICY CHANGES EFFECTIVE THIS SCHOOL YEAR:
First Communion:
This will be the last year that second graders may receive the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion without having regularly attended first grade religious education.*
Children who will be in second grade NEXT year MUST attend first grade religious education regularly this year in order to be in the second grade preparatory religious education class next year.*
Students who wish to receive the sacrament of Confirmation must regularly attend at least two years of religious education prior to their Confirmation year, beginning with confirmation class 2013
Confirmation 2012 - Students must regularly attend religious education this year and next year in order in receive this sacrament.*
Confirmation 2013 - Students must regularly attend 2010/2011 and 2011/2012 religious education in order to participate in the 2012/2013 Confirmation class.*
*Students become ineligible to receive Confirmation if they miss more than two religious education classes during the preparatory year of PSR.
The cut off day for admittance to the First Communion and Confirmation preparatory classes for this year will be October 1, 2010.
These guidelines have been set in place to adequately prepare each student to receive their sacrament. Exceptions may be made on an individual basis through Father Barry and proof of the students knowledge of the material covered in each grade.
Thank you,
Father Barry
